Nine Yards, La Crosse's favorite traditional Irish group, has
returned! Nine Yards formed in 2002, and quickly earned respect
throughout the region for their beautiful arrangements of traditional
Irish and American tunes. Within a couple years, they were opening for
acts as big as Gaelic Storm, playing along side numerous others at La
Crosse's Irish Fest, and performing throughout the region and as far as
Duluth, MN.
In 2007, the band decided to go on hiatus. They took some time to grow, refocus, and explore other creative pursuits.
Now, Nine Yards is back, rested and invigorated! Here they are playing a couple sets at the Cameron Park Farmers' Market with dear friend Tim Jenkins. Keep an eye out for future performances and events!
Nine Yards is Nou “Misha” Vu on fiddle and Matt Duckett on guitar. The La Crosse duo applies an innovative and rhythmic approach to Irish and Scottish traditional music as well as American old-time music.
